Lesson 3 - Detoxification for Total Health |
 |
Putting the Process into Perspective |
 |
- Introduction: One sunny day, you are walking happily along when you reach a wall. You try to scale it, but soon you slump down in its shadow as you realize that it is too high. You call out, "Gary, my path is blocked. I can't go on."
"Get up, step way back and examine the wall", Gary advises.
As you step back, you notice a wide band of light streaming through the wall, about 40 feet away. You run to the source of the light and reaching it, you see a pathway through the wall that opens onto a smooth, level road bordered by wildflowers.
- Purpose: Lesson 3 will help you step back from life circumstances that are blocking your progress, so that you can see positive solutions.
- Focus: Focus on examining your life circumstances from a broader perspective that will facilitate your making good choices.
- The Protocol: Month 3 continues the detoxification protocol.

- Stress Reduction & Physical Activity: Meditate 30 minutes each day.
Continue exercising for 45 minutes, 6 days a week: aerobic activity one day followed by resistance training the next.
- Conclusion: What do you see?
Can you view yourself with more clarity? When you see problem areas in your life, how willing are you to take steps to create change?
Realize that you cannot avoid every pitfall and focus on how far you have come. Feeling discouraged? Look into the eyes of the person in the mirror and acknowledge how courageous you are to undertake such a difficult, but meaningful, journey.
Detoxifying means changing for the better. As you give up old habits, familiar toxic foods and negative relationships, you will create an environment where positive change is possible.
