Lesson 4 - No More Excuses

Increasing Your Expectations

  1. Introduction: As you journey on, you wander down a path and come upon a tiny village. You decide to stay awhile and you agree to help the innkeeper prepare meals each evening in exchange for lodging. By day, you work as a carpenter's apprentice.

You think about moving on, but the mist in the valley obscures everything beyond and you fear leaving the security of the village. Life here is boring and hard, but at least you have food and shelter.

One evening, Gary steps into the inn, greets you and says, "We've been searching for you. Exciting, positive things are happening down the road. Get your things and let's go."

You hesitate, "I can't leave now. I have obligations here. Who will help the innkeeper with dinner or the carpenter with his cabinets?"

Gary replies, "I will be back in a month. Take that time to think about what is really holding you here: Is it your love for what you have found in this place or is it your fear of what lies beyond?"
  2. Purpose: Lesson 4 will help you discover how excuses hide the fear of change and how an excessive need for security can prevent us from taking positive action.
  3. Focus: Focus on deconstructing your excuses so that they can no longer hold you back.
  4. The Protocol: Month 4 continues the detoxification protocol and adds 2 new supplements to the regimen.

  5. Written Exercises: Click here for Homework 4.
  6. Stress Reduction & Physical Activity: Continue meditating 30 minutes each day and exercising for 45 minutes, 6 days a week.
  7. Conclusion: Commitment Brings a New Awareness

Each choice you make has consequences: If you commit to wellness, you will do everything to promote health and avoid anything that jeopardizes your wellbeing. If you do not commit to changing for the better and instead use your energy to protect the status quo, you will ultimately lose control.

The real danger of your excuses is that you will begin to believe them yourself!
