A Chiropractor in Mission Viejo Can Give You Back Pain Relief

Lower back pain is the most common spinal problem that affects more people than any other in the world.  As a Mission Viejo Chiropractor, I am a specialist in a light-force technique that uses 6 ounces to correct the spine.  It is based on the most powerful yet least forceful of all of the techniques. It has shown to be the best way to correct the problem of lower back pain in 98% of the cases.

Considering myself to be the best Chiropractor in Mission Viejo is a bold statement.  However, I can back this up with the results we get. It is very normal for someone to come in who has gone to at least 3 other chiropractors and not yet been corrected.  The question is, “do you just want relief, or do you want to correct your spine so the lower back pain goes away and stays away?”

If you really would like to get a permanent change, then I invite you to see if my 35 years of practicing in Mission Viejo would actually help you.  I don’t treat everyone that comes in. I only treat those that are correctible. So, we would have to check out your spine, take a couple of x-rays (only 2, I don’t like to take a lot of x-rays), and see if you have a correctable problem.  Only then could you become a patient.

About ½ of American adults report having low back pain lasting at least one day in the last 3 months.  It has been the most common cause of job-related disability and the leading contributor to missed work.  That’s a lot of bad backs. The estimated cost of this problem in the United States of over 260-300 billion dollars in one year.

The standard medical approach to back pain varies depending on the severity of the condition.  Muscle relaxants, painkillers, rest and physical therapy such as traction, diathermy, ultrasound, hot packs, and cold packs are sometimes used.  These forms of treatment and therapy are temporary even at their most effective rate. Why would you want temporary relief?

Some people let their back pain develop into the most painful condition called Sciatica.  This is inflammation of the largest and longest nerve in your body that runs from your lower back all the way to your big toe.  It hurts, if you can imagine, more than delivering a baby without drugs. Most people cannot even walk!

Then there are the cases that submit to back surgery.  Nearly 600,000 back surgeries are performed every year.  Yet, the AMA says that 19 out of 20 are unnecessary.

In 2013 even the Journal of the American Medical Association suggested chiropractic care as an option for low back pain—noting that surgery should only be tried if all else fails.

Then there is the failed back surgery syndrome.  Many people who have had back surgery report a recurrence of their symptoms with a year or two of the operation and may return to the operating table again.  I have treated people before their scheduled surgery and prevented them from needing it. I have also seen people after they have already had a surgery and it failed.  The worst one is a nurse who has had 8 back surgeries. She came to me to see if we could fix it so she didn’t need it.

I consider my self to be the best Chiropractor in Mission Viejo because of people like her since we were able to prevent the need for her 9th surgery!  Could you imagine going through all of that?  She is in her 50’s and still able to work full-time as a nurse.  Needless to say, she is very happy with our care.

Chiropractors in general have helped millions of people with low back problems, often saving them from pain, disability, drugs and surgery.  The chiropractor’s purpose is to gently and painlessly rebalance and realign your spine and structural system to relieve pressure on your nerves, discs and muscles.

One of our specialties is to use Non-Invasive Disc Rehabilitation to get rid of the disc swelling or rebuild degenerative discs to help the spine straighten out and get rid of the pain.  Research studies repeatedly reveal that chiropractic helps those with lower back pain to recover faster and at less cost. Since the disc table we use came out and we starting using it in 1998, patients make twice as much progress in ½ the time it used to take to get corrected.  They are very happy.

In one study of people disabled from lower back pain, those who used chiropractic had a 24% faster decrease in disability, 5.9% less opioid painkiller use, and 19% less medical costs compared with those using physical therapy.

Even though I am a Chiropractor, I have a daughter who is a Doctor of Physical Therapy.  In fact, we work very well together knowing that Physical Therapy and Chiropractic go hand-in-hand to help people get well.

One study concluded, the percentage of chiropractic patients who were very satisfied with the care they received for low back pain was triple that for patients of family physicians. Why?  We are correcting the nerve irritation at the root of the problem, not just trying to reduce the symptoms on a temporary basis.

As a result of this blog, I want you to realize that the care that I utilize employs only 6 ounces of pressure in the adjustments.  We couple this with the Disc Rehab table and use hands-on massage therapy for those that need it. Our results are great!!

Please call us and mention this blog.  As I said earlier, I have a great practice because I only treat those that are correctible.  Come in to see if you are a candidate.

Sincerely,

Dr. David C. Manago D. C.
