When should you start taking your frequent headaches seriously?

These only affect one side of the head, don’t have any breaks in the pain, cause sharp pain spikes, are responsive to the prescription NSAID Indocin, and may be related to one or more of the following.

Frequent Headaches Prevention Tips

So what can you do to prevent it? Here are our top tips!

Steer clear of things that cause frequent headaches.

Keep a record of the items that cause headaches, such as the meals you consume, the things you do, and the surroundings. You can try to prevent your headache triggers if you can pinpoint them.

Have a restful night’s sleep.

Adults typically require seven to eight hours of sleep per night. It’s best to maintain a consistent bedtime and wake-up time each day. Consult a doctor if you have difficulties falling asleep.

Exercise frequently.

Training and lowering stress can benefit your physical, mental, and emotional health. Choose enjoyable hobbies like cycling or walking with the approval of your doctor.

Avoid caffeine as much as possible.

Caffeine is a component of specific headache treatments because it can assist in lessening headache discomfort. But it can also make headaches worse. Reduce or stop consuming caffeine.

Avoid abusing any painkillers or other drugs.

Taking painkillers more than twice a week can make headaches more frequent and more severe. If you have taken it for a while, you should talk to your doctor about gradually weaning yourself off the medicine.

When do headaches become a medical problem?

Occasionally occurring, headaches typically don’t need any particular medical care. But if any of the following apply to you:

  • You regularly get two or more headaches weekly.
  • To treat headache discomfort, you must take more over-the-counter medication than is advised.
  • Your headache pattern may vary, or your headaches may worsen.
  • Find that the headaches are incapacitating.
  • Your headaches are abrupt and harsh.
  • You have a fever, stiff neck, confusion, seizure, double vision, weakness, numbness, or difficulty speaking as a side effect.
  • It started happening following a head injury.
  • They worsen after you take a painkiller and rest.
